Conversions

The most helpfull websites for these types of problems are OnlineConversions.com or OnlineConverison.com, whichever better suites you is fine.

The main thing you must always in oder to solve coversion problems is either look up or memorize what one unit of what's being asked equals to. If your aksed to change 35lbs into kg you HAVE to know how many kilograms are in 1 pound or else you cant to the problem.

Here are several conversion problems:

119lbs = how many kg?

well 1 lb = 0.454kg, so 119lbs would be 119*(0.454kg) = 54kg.

*Remember Kilograms are always smaller than pounds.*

122.122 lbs = how many kg? Again using 1 lb = 0.454kg we multiply 122.122 by 0.0454 and get 55.44kg.

Convert 1333kg into lbs, now we need to know that 1kg - 2.2 lbs

so 1333kg*2.2 = 2,932.6lbs, see how the answer is larger than the question since kg are always bigger than lbs.

What's half my weight in kg if I weight 175lbs?

First I have to get half my weight which is 175/2 = 87.5lbs, from here just use

1lb = 0.454kg again and the answer is 87.5*0.454kg = 39.73kg

What's 22.5% of .735 Tons in Pounds?

Well first we need to know that 1Ton = 2000lbs, from here we get that .735Tons is 2000lbs*.0.735 = 1470lbs. Now we need to know 22.5% of 1470, well 22.5% really means .225 and the word "of" means to multiply so 22.5% of 1470 is:

1470lbs*(.225) = 330.75lbs

How many 1/2 Metric tbsp's of water does a 90mL cup hold?

First we have to know that tbsp stands for Tablespoon and that 1 metric Tablespoon equals 15mL or 15 millileters. So a 1/2 Metric tbsp will hold half of 15 which 7.5.

So the real question is how many 7.5's are there in 90 with out going over, so clearly 90 ÷ 7.5 = 12. So 12 half tablespoons will fit.

A 300 Metric tsp Jar is 7/16 empty, how many mL are left?

Well first of we need to know that tsp means teaspoon, and that nine tenths of 300 is (300)*(7/16) = 131.5, from here just need to convert 131.5.

1 Metric Teaspoon = 5mL so the answer is (131.5)*(5) = 656.25mL.
